With over 15 years of experience in direct service, and nearly 10 years as a clinical social worker, I wasn’t sure if stepping into an administrative role would be fulfilling—but it turned out to be a turning point in my life. I discovered a deep passion for organizational development, capacity building, and grant writing and saw how those efforts increase access and impact among those most vulnerable.

I still remember writing my first grant—a 65-page SAMHSA proposal—with my former supervisor. I was overwhelmed, unsure, and the imposter syndrome was raging. While that proposal wasn’t funded, simply completing the submission was a major personal win. It also revealed something important: I needed a coach.

Working in a grassroots nonprofit, I didn’t have access to grant writing training, coaching, or mentorship; So, I taught myself. I developed a system to stay organized, clarify my vision, and approach proposals strategically. Since then, I’ve secured over $2 million in foundation funding to support essential community services across the organizations I’ve served.

Now, I help mission-driven nonprofits build the skills and confidence to approach grant writing with clarity and purpose—from research to submission.
